Coffee Shop imagination

March 4, 2026

Good coffee and observation. Though I write in cafes for simple reasons, serendipity abounds.

Pop by Flora and Fauna sometime, my new favorite haunt. You just might spot me posted in a corner, head phones on, ticky tapping away. But believe you me, I see the face you make at that first sip melting away lines of anxiety. So too I catch the closed eye grin holding a fresh bite of fried chicken sandwich. And I smile as grandma lifts her granddaughter to choose which flaky pastry behind the glass looked tastiest.

I find inspiration in interactions big and small, though no, not one of you will be a character in any tale of mine. Your expressions, though, of joy or love or pain of the couple opposite barely holding it together as their relationship falls apart in public, each are touching, if only in passing.

And if l’m to compete against some intelligent modeling language born of the many intersections of inbred Internet content, then I’m leveraging every relatable advantage on offer to me. I’ll bring to bear every ability to empathize, to desire, to define purpose itself.

The beautiful and awkward alike walk through the door passed the wall of windows. I love them the same, each in my own way.
