St John's Cathedral
St John's Cathedral
The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist dominates the Savannah skyline with its French Gothic spires. Located right in the heart of Savannah. This is a working Cathedral, with a strong congregation. But very accessible for both tourists and locals alike to visit. Founded in the late 1700s, the congregation built its current home in 1873. A devastating fire in 1898 gutted the building, but the resilient community rebuilt it within a year. And what a magnificent rebuild that they did!
