He thought it was something Savannah could use.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad_width1\">\n<div class=\"fl-lt ad_width2\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">So on January 1, 2024, when most of Savannah was nursing champagne headaches or resolving to drink more water, Peter filled a tub with ice, dropped a pin on Instagram, and invited whoever was brave enough to show up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Fifteen people came. Then they came back the next week. And again the next. A year later, it\u2019s a full-blown movement.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left; color:#8bd7fb;\">The Ritual Begins Before the Plunge<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cWe\u2019ve met almost every Sunday morning since,\u201d Peter says. \u201cBefore anyone even touches the water, we start by preparing the tubs with ice, socializing, catching up. Then we move into 30 minutes of breathwork and mindful movement. It\u2019s about creating the right internal state before you even dip a toe.\u201d The process is as important as the plunge, a kind of communal ceremony that eases the mind and anchors the body.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"fl-rt ad_width2\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/savannahmadesimple.com\/Magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/The-Ice-Tub-Club-2.jpg\" style=\"width:100%;\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin:0; padding:0;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left; color:#8bd7fb;\">A Sauna in Starland. A Plunge into Something Deeper.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">The Ice Tub Club meets weekly in the heart of Savannah\u2019s Starland District, with pop-up saunas and cold plunges that look more like a music video shoot than a wellness routine. But it\u2019s not a fitness flex or a trendy stunt.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad_width1\">\n<div class=\"fl-lt ad_width2\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cIt was a need that needed to be filled,\u201d Hannah says. \u201cIt was nice having community like, a way for everybody to kind of gather, to move and be intentional with each other and with their own bodies. Everybody\u2019s kind of growth minded in the same way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">That phrase comes up often: intentional. This isn\u2019t just about dopamine hits or chasing cold shock benefits. It\u2019s about choosing discomfort, together. About sitting in silence with strangers, your breath fogging in the cold, and realizing you\u2019ve never felt more connected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cA lot of people come thinking they\u2019re gonna be tough about it,\u201d Hannah says. \u201cLike, \u2018I\u2019m gonna stay in five minutes, longer than my buddy.\u2019 But in that first minute, you tense up, you panic. And then\u2026 you breathe. You remind yourself that you\u2019re safe. And suddenly, everything changes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"fl-rt ad_width2\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/savannahmadesimple.com\/Magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/The-Ice-Tub-Club-3.jpg\" style=\"width:100%;\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">She calls it a reset. \u201cA mental reset. That\u2019s the reason I plunge every week. It\u2019s like eating the frog. If I do the hardest thing first, I can eat frogs all day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0; padding:0;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left; color:#8bd7fb;\">From Cold Water to Warm Belonging<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">In a city where social life is often soaked in bourbon and beer, the Ice Tub Club offers something radically different: daylight. Real conversations. Shared stillness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cThere\u2019s so much drinking and nightlife in Savannah,\u201d Hannah says. \u201cThis is a shift into daylight and real, genuine connection between people\u2026 You come and meet people that are like you or people that open up your mind in new ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad_width1\">\n<div class=\"fl-lt ad_width2\">\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cOne of the biggest benefits,\u201d Peter adds, \u201cis this form of social wellness that\u2019s been created. It\u2019s not just about getting cold. It\u2019s about coming together regularly, moving your body, pushing your mind, and cheering each other on. There\u2019s accountability, but more than that, there\u2019s connection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">And yes, this thing is scrappy. Mobile saunas. Pop-up locations. An evolving schedule of public plunges and private sessions. They meet people where they are, sometimes literally, in new neighborhoods every month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Still, it\u2019s not about building a brand. It\u2019s about building a bond. \u201cI\u2019ve made deeper connections here than anywhere else,\u201d Hannah says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cWhen I moved, it was the Ice Tub people who showed up with trucks and said, \u2018I live around the corner, need help?&#8217;\u201d What about folks who don\u2019t see themselves reflected in the ice tub crowd? What about people who feel like they don\u2019t fit the mold?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"fl-rt ad_width2\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/savannahmadesimple.com\/Magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/The-Ice-Tub-Club-4.jpg\" style=\"width:100%;\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cThat\u2019s one of the main things Ice Tub Club is good for,\u201d Hannah says. \u201cBreaking yourself out of your comfort zone. A big part of it is just showing up. Even that first step is growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">She admits the vibe can look intimidating from the outside. That\u2019s why they host public plunges in places like Starland Yard, to invite in new faces, new energies, and new stories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\u201cIt\u2019s not about how long you can sit in the cold,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s about reminding yourself that you\u2019re safe. That you\u2019re capable. And that maybe the person next to you, someone you thought you had nothing in common with, is feeling the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">In a way, the Ice Tub Club feels like Savannah itself: unexpected, layered, and quietly transformative. It\u2019s not built on hype or hustle, it\u2019s built on heart.
