The SEC Volleyball Tournament is arriving at Enmarket Arena with sixteen teams and a level of play the city has never hosted before. It will be fast and loud, with rallies that swing momentum in seconds. For a town that loves big moments, this one is ready to fit right in.

University of Kentucky setter Molly Berezowitz knows exactly what Savannah is about to witness. “College volleyball is growing fast,” she says. “Attendance records everywhere are skyrocketing. Even if you do not know anything about volleyball, it is such a fun sport to watch because teams are so competitive and the level is so high.”

She laughs and adds, “I do not think volleyball has ever really been in Savannah the way it will be this week.” She is right.

The Matchups Will Be Big. The Energy Will Be Bigger.

Molly breaks the field down like someone who lives inside the strategy. “There are sixteen teams. The bottom eight are still super competitive. One of those teams took us to five last week. That just says a lot about the SEC. It is equal across the whole conference.”

Friday and Saturday will bring the early rounds. Tight matches. Young stars. Teams fighting for a chance at a historic first title. But the real heat comes later in the week. “Once you get into Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the volleyball just keeps getting better,” she says. “The top four seeds are Kentucky at one, Texas AM at two, Texas at three, and Tennessee at four. We have played all of them. The level is extremely high. These are all top twenty five teams.”

No matter when you go, you will see real competition.

Not exhibition.
Not warm ups.
Real volleyball. Real stakes.

And if you want stars, this tournament has stars.

“On the University of Kentucky, we have a really good outside duo, Eva Hudson and Brooklyn DeLeye,” Molly says. “They have been the talk of volleyball. Our libero Molly Tuozzo is amazing too.”

“Then there is Texas. ‘Torrey Stafford is huge for them,’ she says. ‘Texas A&M Aggies has All American opposite hitter Logan Lednicky. Tennessee Volunteers play balanced, smart, clean volleyball with hitters who can take over. Florida Gators have setter Alexis Stucky.’

Why Savannah Should Show Up.

When asked how she would pitch this tournament, Molly does not even pause.

“You want to be there,” she says. “This is history. It is the first SEC volleyball tournament. If you are thinking about going, this is the perfect time. It has never happened before, and this is one of the best conferences in the country. You do not want to miss this.”

Kentucky Enters With Momentum. Kentucky arrives here hot. “We had a very good preseason,” Molly explains. “We played all the Final Four teams from last year and still started seven and two. Then in conference play we went undefeated in our last fifteen games. That is why we won the SEC regular season title yesterday.”

Now comes the part that matters. The conference tournament. The run to the NCAA tournament. A long season that is about to get even longer.

“It gets real now,” she says. “Some teams will play one match. Some can play five. It depends on winning and losing. We hope to go deep.”

Savannah Can Make a Difference.

This tournament is new to Savannah, but the city has heart and a beautiful arena ready to host something big. Local media will cover it. Traditional outlets will show up. But big crowds now come from something else entirely.

Social energy.
Hype.
People showing people what is happening.

Because at the end of the day, full arenas change the match.
Crowds change momentum.
Noise changes everything.

Come Cheer On Your Team. Whether you are a Kentucky fan ready to take on the country. Whether you are a Florida or Tennessee fan ready to make some noise. And of course, local Georgia Bulldog support will be rocking. Whether you live in Savannah and just want to experience something brand new

This is your moment.

Come cheer on your team.
Come cheer on your colors.
Come help your school take down the University of Kentucky Wildcats if that is where your loyalty lies.
Or come cheer the Wildcats if you bleed blue.

It all counts.
It all matters.
And Savannah is ready for it.

About The Author

Brett Bigelow

Savannah is about to learn something new about itself.
